Falcon Freedom Days 2018

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

This Saturday, June 30th is Falcon Freedom Days at 5pm.

We have many people from our congregation who are serving in various areas. We will have two vendor booths and there will be a lot of fun things for you and your family. We want you to join us as we go into our community to serve but also to show our community who we are.

Matthew 5:14-16

14 “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. 15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.”

There are times when we will hold events here at Meridian Point Church, in order to attract people to what’s going on at MPC. There are other times when our community is doing something and we as the BIG “C” church should come along side them. Whether that’s serving or just being there and supporting our community. Joining our community for Falcon Freedom Days gives us an amazing opportunity to shine our lights; individually but also as a church.

What are we asking for?

We are asking everyone in our congregation to show up on June 30th to Falcon Freedom Days and be a light to our community. At Meridian Point we want to build a bridge to our community. A bridge that allows us to go into our community but also allows the community to come to us. To be a spiritually healthy church, it means that we are going to go into our community and become part of it, instead of sitting comfortably with in our own space.

Don’t Forget!

Wear your Meridian Point T-shirts and join us at Falcon Freedom Days!

Home Harvest Fest!

Home Harvest Fest | Meridian Point Church

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]The past few weeks you may have heard us talk about doing a Home Harvest Fest as a church in our communities. If you’re new to Meridian Point Church this is a great opportunity to get plugged in and connect by joining one of the Home Harvest Fest that will be going on.

When it comes to Outreach many times we can get caught up in focusing on bringing people into our building. Which at times is great, but there are other times when it is more effective for God’s Kingdom if we go into our communities. The Home Harvest Fest give us that opportunity to go into our neighborhoods and share Christ with those that live around us. We’re encouraging all Life Groups to participate in this event. If every Life Group participates it will allow us to cover most of the Falcon Communities.

So often we wish that we would have an opportunity to be able to talk with our neighbors to invite them to church or share Jesus with them. The Home Harvest Fest gives us that opportunity. Many of your neighbors will be out, walking around with their families, coming to your house for candy. You don’t even have to leave your house to share Jesus with someone, they’ll be coming to you!

This is our third year doing the Home Harvest Fest and a few ideas that some of the groups have had that allowed for conversations was to serve hot dogs or hot chocolate to the parents. One group did s’mores in the drive way, it was awesome to see conversations being started about Meridian Point Church around a fire pit and marshmallows.

The idea is to throw the biggest and best party in your neighborhood. You don’t need the big carnival games to have a great time. Here’s a link to help you plan some fun games for your Home Harvest Fest:

If you’re not involved in a LifeGroup or are looking for a way to get connected with Meridian Point Church come speak with me (Dave Laubscher) and I’ll help you find a Home Harvest Fest to be involved with.

Life Group leaders please e-mail dave@meridianpoint.church if your group is hosting a Home Harvest Fest. I’d like to be able to put a map together of the different groups and post them on the Falcon Facebook page.[/vc_column_text][vc_btn title=”REGISTER ONLINE” style=”outline-custom” outline_custom_color=”#54c8e7″ outline_custom_hover_background=”#54c8e7″ outline_custom_hover_text=”#ffffff” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fmeridianpoint.churchcenteronline.com%2Fregistrations%2Fevents%2F87042||target:%20_blank|” el_class=”button-text”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Life Network: Because Life Matters

Ten years ago, my dad found Life Network in the phone book, yes, the phone book! He was searching for a place to take his pregnant, 17-year-old daughter. A place that would be safe, honest, helpful, and most of all, a place where Jesus was welcome.

I walked into Life Network that day, broken. They offered me a pregnancy test, which I took. The result: positive. I waited in a comfortable room. When that door opened, I expected another lecture, a disappointed face. Instead, God placed just the right woman in that room with me. What a “coincidence” it was that she had been a missionary in the same place where I grew up. I didn’t find any condemnation in that place. This woman showed me grace, showed me understanding, and better yet, reminded me of the grace and love that God was going to continue to show me, no matter what. When I left that day, I felt a little less broken.

In the months that followed, I received education on raising a baby. I earned baby clothes and other baby items by taking these classes. I also received continued counseling.

Life Network discusses what options are available to pregnant women. But it doesn’t stop there. An ultrasound is offered as well. The services don’t stop with the mother but they also offer counseling to the fathers. The services continue until the child reaches 2 years of age.

The services that Life Network offered to me that day ten years ago are only scratching the surface of all that they do. They also offer post-abortion support and counseling, showing hope and grace for the hurting.

Don’t take my word for it. On Thursday, December 8th, from 2-6pm at 3700 Galley Road,  join us for their Open House, where you will be able to see it all for yourselves.

Home Harvest Fest

We are less than ONE week away from Halloween. Please consider hosting a Home Harvest Fest or getting involved with one.

Many times we see that Jesus SENT his disciples out into the different communities, preaching and healing those that were sick or possessed. Jesus didn’t focus on waiting for people to come to him or to his disciples, but instead, he was proactive in going out, finding what the needs of the communities were, and serving them in those areas. The Home Harvest Fest is our opportunity to GO into our communities and to serve those around us. We are asking for you to get together with your life group or with some friends, have games for the kids to play as they trick-or-treat and pass out candy but also to be a light in your community by inviting those that come to your house to join you for service here at Meridian Point Church.

Churches can tend to get caught up in focusing on how many people come through their doors that they forget there’s a community outside their doors that needs the church to come to them. Here at Meridian Point we want to be a church thais known and respected by the community. We don’t want to be focused on our building or property but instead, we want to be part of the community and build real relationships, showing Christ to everyone around us.

What does a Home Harvest Fest look like?

  • Have games for kids to play to earn candy
  • Have coffee, tea or hot chocolate to pass out to the parents
  • Talk to you neighbors and explain why you’re doing this
  • Become the house that everyone talks about and remembers that the church was in their community that night

Home Harvest Fest

The Home Harvest Fest is a time to get together and bring Meridian Point Church to your neighborhood. Traditionally, churches host this event in their buildings or parking lots in hopes to reach people in their community, giving them a safe alternative to trick-or-treating. Here at Meridian Point, we took a different approach last year and went into our communities hosting many Home Harvest Fest’s throughout Falcon/Peyton. Because of the success we had last year, we again have the opportunity to meet some of our neighbors and evangelize while the kids play games. Our goal is to bridge the gap between Meridian Point Church and our communities.

Please consider hosting a Home Harvest Fest and bringing a little piece of Meridian Point to your neighborhood. You can register to host on our Church App or below.
