I wanted to let everyone know in a little more detail how our new “Give It Away” program works. We’ve always said we don’t want to just send checks to ministries but truly partner with them.  So as a way of continuing to expand that idea we have started what we call “Give It Away”.  The ministry is designed to help those who are active at MPC to take a more direct role in supporting our ministry partners. It’s two parts:

  1. Several times each month we will pick an individual/family from the congregation who will be given a check to mail out to one of our ministry partners. We ask that you write a letter of encouragement, remember them in your prayers that week, give them a phone call, etc. along with sending the money.  We want to help you learn more about the ministries we support and provide personal encouragement to those who serve in those ministries.
  2. On the first Sunday of each month we will be having an “Extra Dollar” offering. We are asking everyone in the congregation to set aside and extra dollar that week for a special offering that will then be given to an individual/family in the congregation to give to any need God gives them opportunity to meet. We only ask that you share how you used that offering to meet a need.  You can share it on our Facebook page, send us an email we can put in our ENL or better yet share with the congregation on a Sunday morning!
