The past few weeks you may have heard us talk about doing a Home Harvest Fest as a church in our communities. If you’re new to Meridian Point Church this is a great opportunity to get plugged in and connect by joining one of the Home Harvest Fest that will be going on.
When it comes to Outreach many times we can get caught up in focusing on bringing people into our building. Which at times is great, but there are other times when it is more effective for God’s Kingdom if we go into our communities. The Home Harvest Fest give us that opportunity to go into our neighborhoods and share Christ with those that live around us. We’re encouraging all Life Groups to participate in this event. If every Life Group participates it will allow us to cover most of the Falcon Communities.
So often we wish that we would have an opportunity to be able to talk with our neighbors to invite them to church or share Jesus with them. The Home Harvest Fest gives us that opportunity. Many of your neighbors will be out, walking around with their families, coming to your house for candy. You don’t even have to leave your house to share Jesus with someone, they’ll be coming to you!
This is our third year doing the Home Harvest Fest and a few ideas that some of the groups have had that allowed for conversations was to serve hot dogs or hot chocolate to the parents. One group did s’mores in the drive way, it was awesome to see conversations being started about Meridian Point Church around a fire pit and marshmallows.
The idea is to throw the biggest and best party in your neighborhood. You don’t need the big carnival games to have a great time. Here’s a link to help you plan some fun games for your Home Harvest Fest:
If you’re not involved in a LifeGroup or are looking for a way to get connected with Meridian Point Church come speak with me (Dave Laubscher) and I’ll help you find a Home Harvest Fest to be involved with.
Life Group leaders please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org if your group is hosting a Home Harvest Fest. I’d like to be able to put a map together of the different groups and post them on the Falcon Facebook page.
