Email is great and all, but what if you wanted to share your thoughts about MPC or a message on our website or Facebook? What if you’ve taken some really cool pictures at an event you’d like to share with others who come MPC, or even some videos you might have taken? What’s an easy way to ask questions that may come up about the message we’re hearing?
The cool new feature!
We have a new feature in our app that I’m excited to share with you! We’ve just launched a way for you to share your thoughts, questions, pictures, and videos with us! Everything you upload gets emailed to us so we can share them with others through our app, website or Facebook. This is a great opportunity for you to easily share the photos you take at MPC or at any of our events, LifeGroups, and the like, and share your experience with others.
How to get there...
First, download our church app.
This feature is only available in our church app. You can easily download our app from the App Store or Google Play. It’s available for all mobile devices. Aside from this new feature we’re introducing, we’ve provided this as a way for you to connect with MPC and keep up to date with current events, sermons, and even read the Bible. So search for our app and download it! You won’t regret this.
Second, upload your content.
After you download the app and open it up, scroll through the menu to look for an icon like this one. Tap the icon and open up the page to take a look at the different options you have to share your thoughts, photos, and videos.
All the things you can do come straight from your mobile device. So if you’ve taken pictures on your phone or tablet, you’ll want to be sure to enable the app to look through your photo library if you haven’t already.
This is a great way to share what happens at LifeGroup, Church Events, or ABCs! People who are thinking about attending an event or coming to MPC for the first time can get a glance at what goes on and what to expect. The part I’m most excited about is the ability to get answers to your questions about messages, learn what God’s been teaching you, and reading any other testimonial you may like to share.
This is the icon you’re looking for!! (he says in his Jedi voice, waving his hand uncomfortably close to your face…)
A few things to note...
Um, what about privacy?
Now, you may be asking, “What if I don’t want to have this blasted everywhere? What if this is more personal and I don’t want it shared with the world?” Don’t worry. None of the stuff you submit will automatically be uploaded for the world to see unless you give us permission to do so. Receiving your uploaded content goes through a process of approval before it goes public. It gets emailed to us first, then I’ll contact you and ask if you want to share your content on our website, Facebook, and app. Most of the time, it’s pretty clear what should and shouldn’t get shared. And if you submit a question about a message, Barry will receive it and respond to you.
If you don’t want your name credited to the photos or videos you share, we won’t publish your name. But we really want to give people an opportunity to see that this was done by those who come to MPC and not just staff. The goal of this is to give you and others opportunity to connect in a new way. If people can see that someone who attended the event or submitted the blog post to the website, it may help others realize that we’re all ordinary people trying to learn to love God more. And that’s the truth.
This is outreach.
Please understand, this is a unique ministry to help others and even yourself get connected and grow in your relationship with the Lord. So before you upload things and we receive them, view what you’re about to do through that lens. Here are some examples on what to think about: “This is for others to help them connect at MPC. This is meant to encourage the church. This is going to help me understand the Bible. This will help others grow in their relationship with God.” If you can’t view it through that lens, then I’d suggest that it isn’t meant for this. Let’s have unity in the new ministry to help others and encourage the church!
